Quality

Quality is controlled.
Not assumed.

Quality on a VSN project is defined before work starts, checked while it happens and recorded before it is covered up. The client can see the evidence at every stage — not only at handover.

01The cycle

How work moves from execution to approval

Execution, inspection request, inspection and approval in sequence. A failed inspection leads to a non-conformance and corrective action, followed by a new inspection request.01 EXECUTION02 INSPECTIONREQUEST03 INSPECTION04 APPROVALNON-CONFORMANCECORRECTIVEACTIONPASSFAIL

02Controls

Eleven controls, applied on every project.

  1. 01

    Material approval

Materials are submitted with data sheets and samples and approved before they are ordered.

  2. 02

    Method statements

Each activity has a method statement describing sequence, resources, tolerances and inspection points.

  3. 03

    Mock-ups

Benchmarks and mock-ups set the accepted standard before production work begins.

  4. 04

    Inspection requests

Work stops at hold points. Inspection requests are raised in advance and closed with a signed record.

  5. 05

    Testing

Concrete, welds, pressure systems, air-tightness and acoustic performance are tested to the specification.

  6. 06

    Workmanship checks

Supervisors check finished work against the approved benchmark, area by area.

  7. 07

    Non-conformance reporting

Work that does not meet the standard is recorded with its cause, extent and owner.

  8. 08

    Corrective action

Each non-conformance is corrected, re-inspected and closed. Recurring causes are fed back into method statements.

  9. 09

    Snagging

Room-by-room snagging is carried out progressively, not left to the final weeks.

  10. 10

    Final inspection

Completed areas are inspected with the client’s representatives before handover.

  11. 11

    Handover documentation

Inspection records, test certificates, approvals and as-built information are issued as a complete quality file.

03Records

What the client holds at the end.

At handover the client receives a quality file organised by package: approvals, inspection records, test certificates, non-conformance close-outs and as-built drawings — cross-referenced to the inspection and test plans that governed the work.

[Insert verified quality management certification, e.g. ISO 9001 — only if held.]

Ask to see a sample inspection and test plan.

We are happy to share how a package is controlled before you appoint us.
